WHEN YOU ARRIVE

Once you’ve parked the car, turn right out of the car park and walk up to Repps Staithe. Turn right along the concrete riverbank path at the back of the bungalows. After a while the concrete stops. Continue walking along the path and ‘Terns’ is the last bungalow on the left-hand side.

If you need it, you can ring in advance and ask Maycraft Boatyard to come and pick you up from the staithe as they run a water-taxi service to the bungalows. Alan May of Maycraft can be reached on 01692 670241 or 07833 657570 (mobile). He charges about £10 per trip.

YOU MAY NEED TO TURN ON THE ELECTRICITY AND/OR THE WATER

ELECTRICITY
The meters and fuse boxes are in the wall cupboard in the corner of the kitchen. Please follow the instructions on the back of the fuse cupboard door.

In the event of a power cut, candles, matches and fuses can be found in this cupboard.

WATER
The water will probably be on when you arrive. If not, the main stopcock is located inside the fence on the footpath side of the property in the corner, close to the outside fence and hose. It is underneath a small round plastic cover which is flush with the ground. Prise up the cover, remove the polystyrene insulation and you will see a plastic handle. Turn this anti-clockwise until the meter starts to move. PLEASE DO NOT FORCE THE HANDLE AS IT COULD BREAK. Replace both the insulation and the cover.

HOT WATER
Hot water is provided by an immersion heater, and the switch is on the back wall inside the linen cupboard in the kitchen. PLEASE TURN THIS SWITCH OFF AT THE END OF YOUR STAY.

(Family Only) Click here for instructions on how to drain the water.
